Imagine slumbering peacefully, only to have your breath hitch and then stop. This isn’t a nightmare, it’s sleep apnea, a common disorder affecting millions of people. So, listen to your body and if you feel you have sleep apnea, don’t hesitate to seek help. A good night’s sleep is just a breath away.
Laser therapy is a medical treatment that uses focused light at different wavelengths to stimulate a process called photobiomodulation (PBM). During PBM, photons enter the tissue and interact with the mitochondria, which is responsible for making the energy of the cell. This triggers a biological cascade of events that leads to an increase in blood flow, cellular turnover, decrease in pain, and acceleration in the healing process of the related tissue. PBM can be used in the treatment of sleep apnea, snoring and TMJ pain. Botox is an injected protein that decreases the muscle’s ability to contract fully, which in turn decreases the appearance of wrinkles. In addition, Botox can be used to relieve Temporomandibular (TMJ) muscle pain and headaches in certain patients

Bruxism is when you clench and grind your teeth causing harm to your teeth and many of us do this at night and don’t realize it. However, some people are symptomatic from grinding their teeth and will experience jaw pain, headaches, and cause damage to their teeth. There has been a correlation between bruxism and sleep apnea because research has shown it may be a protective mechanism to open your airway. However, having bruxism doesn’t mean you have sleep apnea. There are several treatments for bruxism that are different than treatment for sleep apnea.
